Find Out Your Unique Gift

Posted by: Helene | Comments (0)

A friend of mine recently went through a total direction change in her business. As it happens sometimes, the change was seemingly imposed onto her by a number of business decisions that her partners took while she was out of town which precipitated the decision to fold up.

Even though she was quite philosophical about it (the business had not been going well for some time, so in a way, she was relieved to have finally found a firm direction that enabled her to take action), she was rather confused as to what was next.

Have you ever been, or are you right now, in a place where you are leaving something behind, and suddenly too many avenues are opened in front of you and somehow you don’t know what to do. The problem comes from too many choices rather than not enough.

Why Is NLP Effective?

Posted by: Helene | Comments (0)

Recently, I received an email from someone enquiring about the NLP Practitioner & Coaching certification courses asking me a question that I thought would be interesting to share here. Caroline said: “You claim that NLP is one of the most effective change technology in existence today. Why is so effective?”

Great question!

This is how it works.

At the basis of NLP Coaching, lies the question: “what has to happen in this person’s brain to bring about the presenting problem?” i.e the pictures, sounds, feelings, smells and tastes that form our internal representation of the outside world, what are they like? I Know You Are Wondering

Recently, Cathay Pacific (I think!) opened a new route to Moscow and advertised “Fly to Moscow 3 times a week”. Do you REALLY want to fly to Moscow 3 times a week? Well, obviously not. When you read this sentence, your mind has to do some adjusting to get the real meaning: “Cathay Pacific has planes flying to Moscow 3 times a week”.

Now just check the internal effect that those 2 sentences have on you:
“Fly to Moscow 3 times a week”
“Cathay Pacific has planes flying to Moscow 3 times a week”.
Most readers will agree that the first one (as a command) bears more urgency, more weight, and feels more personal.

There is a law of language that is well known to anyone trained in marketing or advertising: the less clear the language, the more work the reader’s mind has to do in order to get the real meaning. What happens is, the reader has to do what we call a ‘transderivational search’, i.e. a search deep inside which produces trance. And anyone interested in language mastery probably ought to know about Milton Erickson. Read More→
